Mrs. Ana "Chiqui" Pérez joined J. Jaramillo Insurance in the summer of 2009 as Underwriting Manager, being part of the founding team. A rigorous risk manager, Mrs. Pérez’s understanding of the local business culture has been instrumental in outlining the service and quality levels necessary for the optimal performance of the dynamic Underwriting Department she leads.

Mrs. Pérez professional experience covers over 40 years in all major areas of the insurance industry: the intermediary sector, the primary insurer sector and MGA’s sector. This versatility has allowed her to maintain long-term relationships with local agents & brokers that have resulted in their commitment and loyalty. Her vast experience in commercial and personal lines has been an enabler in assessing risks in detail, determining competitive rates, designing products and reducing risks and costs to our producers’ insureds.

Mrs. Pérez beginnings in the industry came through the Claims department at a local MGA. Later on, she worked for 10 years at a leading local brokerage firm working hand-in-hand with clients. Her underwriting career started later on at National Insurance Company (now Multinational Insurance) developing methodologies for in-depth risk analyses. Before joining JJI, she worked for two local MGA’s as director of the underwriting department and as Senior Underwriter, respectively, where her supervisory and management skills accelerated.

Mrs. Pérez is a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR). She has attended numerous seminars on policy coverage and pricing.
